SDCUC serves to educate the public about corn and corn-related products. We inform consumers by attending trade shows and state fairs. We also produce television, radio, and newspaper ads that promote the advantages in developing value-added state agriculture, and print brochures that explain new uses for corn and corn-related products.
SDCUC also works hard to keep state producers on the cutting edge of agriculture by hosting educational workshops, printing a quarterly newsletter that contains the latest information on farming practices and trends, and producing educational marketing campaigns.
SDCUC supports numerous agriculture education programs, including FFA, Save our Farm Youth, Little I and 4-H, because we believe the future of our industry depends on up and coming young farmers. And we award financial scholarships to SDSU, Lake Area Technical Institute and Mitchell Technical Institute. These scholarships are awarded to either a sophomore, junior or senior on course to graduate with a major in agriculture. This has been a beneficial way to promote the corn industry careers.
